Frequently Asked Questions

How many dogs can you walk at once?

I have experience walking up to 4 dogs at a time, but the group has to be a calm bunch with no major behavior challenges to manage. All cases of leash reactivity or anxious/shy dogs, etc., will be walked solo to ensure their safety and comfort. I'm happy to take requests for solo walks for any of your dogs if that is your preference.

My pet needs to go to the vet. Can you take them?

I sure can! I can also get them to and from a grooming appointment or just take them on a joy ride if they enjoy that sort of thing. Check out my pet taxi service for pricing.

Do you have experience with rare or exotic pets?

I have very little experience with rare and exotic pets, so I'm only working with cats and dogs currently. I do plan to expand the pet care team soon. I will keep in mind the value of having pet care pros with rare and exotic pet experience.

What do I do if I need to cancel a pet care request?

Contact me asap to let me know you need to cancel. There is a 50% deposit for all overnight care jobs that is due prior to the beginning of care. This deposit is fully refundable up until 5 or more days prior to the beginning of care. Cancellations 48 hours or less are subject to full payment of the entire overnight care fee.

Do you allow pets in your home?

I do not offer pet care out of my home. You can either book me for overnight care out of your home (I will sleep at your place and take care of your pet(s) and related cleaning tasks) or you can go with drop-in care. Drop-in care is best suited for pets that are more independent and don't have many special needs because they will be home alone at night.

Do you administer medication?

I do not have experience administering medications beyond pills and chews. I am happy to learn from you if you're willing to walk me through your pet's medication routine.

How do I know if you're a good fit for my pet's care?

There will be a meet & greet prior to any services you book with me. We will spend about 30 minutes (no charge to you) going over the contract, chatting about your pet and their needs and I'll ask you to show me around your home. This way you'll be able to show me all the things I'll need to know while you're away; like where you keep your pet's food, toys, where you dispose of poop bags/scooped litter, etc. Feel free to ask any questions that come up during our meet & greet. It is very important to me that all parties are comfortable and feel secure moving forward. If the chemistry feels off to you and you're not comfortable moving forward, please do not hesitate to let me know. We can either set up a meet & greet with a different sitter on my team OR I can refer you to other trusted sitters in my circle.

What happens if my pet gets sick or injured while in your care?

Although, I'm very careful and alert while caring for your pets, accidents can still happen. For this reason, I am fully insured and bonded. In the event of any incident ranging from accidental ingestion of toxins to your dog biting someone while we're out on a walk, your pet will be able to get the care they need. I am also certified in pet CPR/First Aid, hopefully this will add an extra layer of assurance.
